Family
Support Programme.
Facilitated
by Ann Prendergast (Counsellor/physcotherapist) this programme offers
support to parents in a group setting and individual counselling
for young people.
It
runs one night per week for 12-20 weeks annually subject to funding
being available. The Parents Support Group aims to allow participants
the opportunity to discover and use personal resources which contribute
to the effective resolution of inter-personal difficulties, particularly
within the family; and to provide a forum whereby each participant
can safely assess their own responses to and responsibilities for
developing harmonious and productive relationships.
The
aim of individual counselling for young people is to allow them
to explore and understand issues affecting them, especially around
parental separation; and to support them to meet their needs.
